Geoff is the tall and slim member of the company. He never had a particular desire to be a jeweller as a young (er) man. However in 2004 he started working during his holidays with Patrick, a family friend, in Hatton Garden.
What struck him was the sense of community, friendship and witnessing the possibility of being part of a creative process that led to the making of something beautiful and meaningful. In 2006 he became a full time employee of Patrick Wyatt and in 2012 a partner. Thus greatness was achieved!
Essentially, Geoff runs the office and makes sure everything gets made and made well! There is much liaising with the many workshops and he encourages and cajoles the artisans on a daily basis to make sure the finished article arrives on time and in perfect order. The use of tact, humour and sometimes even a raised eyebrow is essential! He also sees a growing number of clients in the studio. Ever keen to learn more, Geoff regularly participates in jewellery-related courses.
Whilst he loves the life of being a jeweller in the heart of the jewellery centre of London, he is very active outside of Hatton Garden and is a student and teacher of practical Philosophy. He meditates which he finds essential for a calm and fulfilled life in the hubbub of London. He has studied Capoeira for several years and recently travelled to Brazil to hone his skills which he now passes on to those new to the art. Geoff has recently joined the Serpentine swimming club and is a keen cyclist. Both these activities keep him impressively slim despite the fact that he would happily eat two packets of Hob-nobs every day.
